Procedure
- Put a ticket in with the JAMF team, they will need to grant you temporary access to be able to add the printer to JAMF.
- After putting in the ticket, Install the Jamf Printer Manager onto a Mac device. The installer can be found at smb://pvfa-services.auth.tamu.edu/Installers/macOS/Print Manager.
- Once the application is installed, open the application. The first time you login, gatekeeper may ask for permission to “Open an app downloaded from the internet”.
- You will need to add the display name, server URL (https://tamu.jamfcloud.com), username (secondary netID without @tamu.edu), and your password
- Once signed in, you will see an application window showing the local printers and the Jamf Pro Printers
- To add the printer from local to the Jamf Pro Printers, use the following steps
- On the left-hand side (the local printer side), select the printer you are wanting to add (e.g. – the Samsung M2020 Series)
- After it is highlighted, click the add button
- Once you add the printer to the Jamf Pro printers side, let the JAMF team know the printer name and they will add it to our JAMF site.
NOTE: Make sure to let the JAMF team know you are wanting to add a printer to our JAMF site. For the signing into the application, you can optionally save your server URL and login information to your keychain. This is so you don’t have to re-enter it the next time you use the program.
